What is the job role?

We're looking for a Junior Product Developer to join our growing Product Team. This is a hands-on, design-focused role reporting directly to the Head of Product. You'll support the end-to-end development of SunGod's award-winning eyewear and accessories, working across seasonal updates, limited edition product drops, QA & QC, packaging design, and more.

This is an ideal opportunity for a junior industrial designer or similar, looking to gain wide-ranging experience in a fast-paced, detail-oriented, and highly creative environment. You'll be involved in all stages of the product lifecycle -from concept generation and prototyping to production support - contributing to both new product innovation and continuous improvement of our existing range.

We're looking for someone with a great eye for style and detail, strong technical design skills, and a desire to grow within a collaborative, cross-functional team. If you're passionate about product development, design for manufacture, and the outdoor sports space, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the design and development of SunGod's product range, including sunglasses, goggles, and accessories

Lead on seasonal updates and limited edition product development

Coordinate product development, sampling and delivery timelines with supply chain and the commercial and marketing teams

Help manage QA & QC processes across product lines

Produce high-quality sketches and visualisations to communicate design intent

Support prototype assembly, testing, and iteration-including hands-on work and 3D printing

Contribute to packaging development and supporting collateral, such as microfibres and Retail POS

Stay up-to-date with current design trends and innovations in performance eyewear

Understand SunGod's triple bottom line of people, planet and profit, and incorporate this into your job role every day

Who are we looking for?

Experience with visual communication software (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)

Good sketching abilities for communicating design ideas effectively

Understanding of design for manufacturing (DFM) principles and manufacturing processes

Basic CAD software experience

Strong practical and hands-on skills in assembling and modifying prototypes, including experience with 3D printing

Understanding of product rendering and visualisation techniques

Ability to create technical drawings and specifications

Ability to assist with product development and testing, with a plus for providing feedback on everyday and performance sunglasses (running/cycling)

Additional experience that would be beneficial:

Experience with SolidWorks CAD

Familiarity with material properties relevant to eyewear & accessories

Understanding of ergonomic considerations in product design

Awareness of current trends in eyewear design

Experience liaising directly with manufacturing suppliers

Sourcing new suppliers
