Job Description

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Business Analyst to support our team on a flexible, contract basis. This is a great opportunity for someone with a freelance background who is looking to gain deeper, longer-term experience within a structured team environment - particularly those considering a future transition into a permanent role. You'll work across a variety of projects helping to analyse data, improve reporting processes, support decision-making and deliver valuable insights to the business. You'll need to be a fast learner, able to navigate systems and tools quickly and be confident in collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders across different teams.

What you'll do:
  1. Quickly develop a strong working knowledge of our internal systems and data sources, gaining the confidence to navigate them independently.
  2. Work closely with key stakeholders across the business to understand their analytical and reporting needs, translating these into clear, actionable requirements that support effective decision-making.
  3. Deliver training sessions and provide hands-on support to end-users of business intelligence tools and dashboards, helping them maximize data and system value.
  4. Offer ongoing support to users by resolving issues, answering queries, and continuously improving the reporting tools and platforms.
  5. Assess the quality, consistency, and control of data flows across systems; identify gaps or inefficiencies and suggest practical improvements to enhance data integrity and usability.
  6. Present insights, reports, and recommendations clearly and engagingly, tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  7. Maintain advanced Excel models and dashboards to support planning, forecasting, and reporting.
  8. Perform detailed data analysis using Excel models to identify trends, anomalies, risks, and opportunities for strategic insight.
  9. Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline reporting processes, improving accuracy and efficiency.
  10. Support wider projects and operational initiatives through ad hoc analysis, building business cases, and acting as a trusted analytical partner.
What you'll bring:
  1. Proven experience in an analytical, business support, or reporting role (freelance or in-house).
  2. Degree educated (2.1 and above).
  3. Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and problem solving (Power Query knowledge is an advantage).
  4. Understanding of finance, especially financial accounting concepts; previous finance-based roles are highly beneficial.
  5. Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.
  6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  7. Enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
  8. Confidence in presenting findings in a user-friendly format to technical and non-technical audiences.
  9. Ability to amend and record process changes proactively.
  10. A proactive, flexible attitude with good time management skills to work independently.
  11. Ability to come into the office 3x per week (Monday, Tuesday & Thursday) - mandatory.
Preferred:
  1. Experience with Ariba and SAP.
  2. Experience using SharePoint, Power Automate, and SQL.
  3. Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI.
  4. A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Business, or related fields.
  5. Experience in a creative, media, or marketing environment.
