Job Description

We are looking for skilled Marine Outfitters/Joiners to support the final fit out of pilot boats in Cowes, Isle of Wight.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy vessel programme during the final stages of production, carrying out high quality marine joinery, outfitting and interior installation work.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Installation of marine interior joinery and outfitting onboard vessels.
  • Fitting bulkheads, linings, cabinetry, furniture, doors, ceilings and interior structures.
  • Building and assembling bespoke furniture and joinery components.
  • Measuring, marking out and preparing installations from technical and production drawings.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, detailed plans and fit-out specifications.
  • Installing and fitting furniture, fixtures and fittings to a high standard.
  • Carrying out finishing, snagging and final adjustments to completed installations.
  • Fitting and adjusting hardware including locks, hinges, handles and associated fittings.
  • Working alongside electrical, mechanical and other trades to achieve programme milestones.
  • Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and workmanship throughout the build process.
  • Conducting self-inspection and quality checks on completed work.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Marine Outfitter, Marine Joiner or Shipyard Joiner.
  • Experience fitting bespoke interiors within marine, yacht, defence or commercial vessel projects.
  • Ability to read and work from engineering, production and technical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of marine interior installations and vessel fit-out activities.
  • Experience building and installing furniture, cabinetry and bespoke joinery.
  • Competent using woodworking machinery, hand tools and measuring equipment.
  • Ability to carry out measuring, levelling and setting out work accurately.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  • Experience working within shipbuilding or marine construction environments is highly desirable.
  • Aluminium fabrication experience would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work safely in confined spaces and at height where required.
Package
  • £25/h for all hours worked
  • Monday to Saturday
  • 10-12 hour days available throughout the project
  • Discounted ferry costs through company arrangements
  • November start through to Christmas
