The Federal Chancellery is seeking to fill a permanent position at its Berlin headquarters in Division 132 "Information and Communication Technology".

The Federal Chancellery provides comprehensive support to the Federal Chancellor in his tasks. It informs the Federal Chancellor about current political affairs and the activities of the federal ministries. In addition, the Federal Chancellery coordinates the work within the Federal Government, prepares decisions by the Federal Chancellor and supports their implementation.
Division 132 is responsible for the secure operation and continuous development of information and communication technology in the Federal Chancellery. To this end, we operate our own systems and work closely with external service providers from the federal administration and the private sector.
At the Federal Chancellery, we rely on state-of-the-art technologies for the digitalization and modernization of our IT infrastructure. Become part of our interdisciplinary team and help shape the Federal Chancellery's IT.
Tasks / What you can expect from us:- Planning, design, implementation and further development of a fail-safe, highly available and protected IPv6 network infrastructure for various users
- Optimization of the network architecture with regard to security, performance and scaling aspects, including crisis resilience and emergency strategies
- Operation and administration of network infrastructures with a particular focus on security and classified information requirements
- Development of technical standards and security concepts for a future-proof, high-performance and secure network
- Collaboration with internal and external partners to implement, test and optimize network solutions
- Successfully completed studies (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in communications engineering or another relevant field of study or comparable experience and skills in the form of several years of demonstrable and relevant professional experience with relevant training certificates and comprehensive knowledge of the technologies used in the field of activity
- In-depth knowledge and experience in the field of enterprise networks, IPv6 network technologies or software-defined networking (SDN), in particular planning, protection and redundancy mechanisms
- Experience with network security, encryption technologies and secure communication infrastructures
- Understanding of modern IT architectures, cloud technologies and mobile networks
- German language skills (business fluent - level C1) as well as good English language skills (level B1) are essential - (competence level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
- Strong teamwork skills, initiative and a solution-oriented, analytical way of working
- Absolute discretion and willingness to cooperate in an extended security check with security investigations in accordance with Section 10 of the Security Check Act

If the personal requirements are met, the tasks to be performed allow for classification up to pay group 12 TVöD. The level classification is based on your professional experience and previous career.
We can therefore offer you an annual salary of up to 89,200 euros (including a "ministerial allowance" of up to 275 euros per month). Depending on the applicant situation, the payment of an additional temporary specialist allowance of up to 1,000 euros per month is possible for tariff employees. If the personal requirements are met, an appointment as a civil servant can be made at a later date.
If you are already employed in the civil service or are a civil servant (up to grade A 13 g, without official allowance), we will seek a secondment/assignment with the aim of transferring you or taking you on.
We offer a good work-life balance with flexible working hours and the opportunity to work from home, as well as 30 days of vacation per calendar year. In addition, we can grant you up to 18 days of compensatory time off within a year if you have sufficient time credits.
