Internship Gameplay Systems Programmer

Company Overview:

Super Heroes is an independent game studio on the Roblox platform, best known for games like Super Hero Tycoon and Hero Brawl. We're looking for curious and motivated interns who want to learn, grow, and help us build fun experiences for millions of players. Although we started with action-focused titles, our work now spans a wide range of genres. As an acquisition-driven studio, we bring new life to existing Roblox games through ongoing live ops, updates, and new features. This means you'll get to work on all kinds of projects, from roleplay and parkour to simulation and combat.

As an intern, you'll help us develop and refine the systems that support our games. We're building a shared, future-ready codebase for all our projects, so the things you work on will have a real, lasting impact. You'll get hands-on experience with live ops, feature development, and using player feedback to improve active games.

What You'll Do:

• Work with Lua to build and improve features within the Roblox ecosystem.
• Collaborate closely with our art, design, and programming teams to create solid, scalable systems for our games.
• Contribute to the development and expansion of our in-house toolkit and shared codebase.
• Take ownership of the systems you build, from initial prototype to polished implementation.
• Work directly with different team members in an open and supportive environment.
• Help maintain and enhance live games through updates, improvements, and player-focused refinements.
• Spend focused time improving the quality, performance, and reliability of our systems.
• Learn how to work with data and community feedback to help shape decisions in live ops.
• Explore a variety of game genres, from roleplay and social experiences to parkour, combat, and simulation.
• Grow your skills by learning professional development practices, design patterns, and workflows used in modern Roblox games.
• Experience what it's like to work in a smaller, tight-knit studio where your ideas and contributions truly matter.

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled as a 3rd or 4th-year student.
• Capable of visiting our office in the Netherlands for collaboration.
• Proficient in English speaking and writing.
• Able to structure and justify system choices.
• Available for a minimum of 5 months, starting September 2025.
