Interim External Auditor - UK REMOTE

Location: Hybrid and in Belfast, or fully remote

Durations: 2 months - April to June 2026 / May to July 2026

A major Public Sector organisation is looking to appoint an Interim Auditor to help shape how over £25n of public money is spent. These roles offer the chance to contribute to meaningful, high-impact work across a wide range of public sector organisations.

In this role, you'll go beyond compliance; your insights will inform decisions at the highest levels of government, supporting transparency, accountability, and long-term improvements in public services.

The Role:

• Work on audits that directly influence public sector reform and efficiency
• Gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of government departments and public bodies
• Fully remote flexibility with a collaborative, purpose-driven team

Responsibilities:

• Delivering high-quality financial audits and contributing to public reporting
• Preparing audit approaches and supporting fieldwork delivery
• Analysing evidence, drafting clear findings, and shaping recommendations
• Building strong working relationships across stakeholders

Requirements:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent)
• At least 2 years' post-qualification experience in external audit
• Based in the UK, with full right to work.
