Interim Bookkeeper (Potential to go Perm)

They partner closely with organisations to improve productivity, security, and collaboration through innovative technology.Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to support their finance function.
Role OverviewThe Bookkeeper will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day finance operations of the business. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will ensure the smooth running of transactional finance processes and contribute to the overall financial health of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records including sales ledger, purchase ledger, and general ledger
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and payment collection
- Perform regular bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with month-end processes, including preparation of journals and accruals
- Support payroll processing and related reconciliations
- Manage expense processing and employee claims
- Prepare financial reports and assist with management accounts
- Maintain and improve financial controls and procedures
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to resolve queries
- Support year-end audit preparation where required
Key Requirements
- Previous experience in a Bookkeeping or similar finance role
- Strong working knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage or QuickBooks)
- Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Intermediate Excel skills
- AAT qualified or studying towards a finance qualification
- Experience working within a technology or services-based business
- Exposure to multi-entity or project-based environments
