SUMMARY OF ROLE

An Information & Outreach Officer is responsible for developing accessible information and training materials and delivering in-person and online information and training sessions on migration and Restoring Family Links. These trainings and information sessions will be delivered to relevant stakeholders and our beneficiaries, including Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection and International Protection Applicants (including unaccompanied minors). This role ensures that all stakeholders are well informed regarding IRC migration and RFL services, their rights and entitlements and how to navigate various administrative processes, such as those linked to the Temporary Protection Directive and the International Protection Process.

This role will require some evening work and the occasional weekend. Time off in lieu will be awarded.

This role may require Garda Vetting.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop high-quality, accurate and accessible information materials relevant to Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection and those in the International Protection process, including unaccompanied minors (UAMs) that is informed by relevant policy and legislation.
• Develop and deliver training sessions for relevant stakeholders.
• Conduct in-person information sessions for IRC beneficiaries. This will include Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection and International Protection Applicants, including UAMs.
• Create and distribute accessible materials in languages spoken by our beneficiaries to enhance understanding of relevant administrative procedures and their associated rights and entitlements.
• Design and deliver online information sessions and webinars.
• Work closely with Communications colleagues on areas such as informational video development, social media and updating the Irish Red Cross website with information on IRC Migration and RFL services.
• Under guidance of the Policy Officer, keep abreast of relevant policy and legislative changes and update information materials accordingly.
• Work with the Monitoring and Evaluation Team on the roll out of surveys and needs assessments as required.
• Uphold appropriate protection and safeguarding standards throughout all engagementand ensure that all activities adhere to IRC policies.
• Ensure cultural and linguistic accessibility, including working with interpreters where required.
• Build strong working relationships with accommodation centre managers and relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of activities, session attendance and participant feedback and contribute to monitoring and reporting requirements.
• Work actively towards the achievement of the Irish Red Cross goals.
• Undertake training and development as required.
• Abide by and uphold the Principles of the International Red Cross Red Crescent Movement.
• Undertake any other reasonable work-related duties and responsibilities assigned by the relevant line manager that are consistent with the nature of the job and level of responsibility.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS Essential Criteria

• Minimum of three years' experience in a similar role involving information provision, community outreach, integration supports or casework with migrant/refugee populations.
• Strong understanding of the International Protection process in Ireland.
• Experience working directly with vulnerable groups and applying protection and safeguarding principles.
• Ability to manage a busy schedule, work independently and take initiative as a self-starter.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Proven organisational skills with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability and willingness to travel nationwide, including occasional overnight stays.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Strong digital literacy, including confidence in creating and delivering online webinars
• Experience delivering presentations, training or information sessions to diverse groups.
• Knowledge of the European Union Pact on Migration and Asylum and the changes to be implemented to the Irish international protection process.
• Knowledge of the Temporary Protection Directive.

Desirable Criteria

• Bachelor's degree in law, politics, international relations, social work or related fields.
• Experience working directly with International Protection Applicants or children.
• Experience training, coordinating or supporting volunteers.
• Experience in developing accessible written materials or digital tools for migrant communities.
• Experience working within a humanitarian, NGO or community-based organisation.
• Project management experience.
• Knowledge of additional languages commonly spoken by IRC beneficiaries(e.g. Arabic, Somali, Pashto, Dari, Ukrainian, Russian, French).
• Full, clean driving license and access to a car for regular travel.
