Aspire People are currently recruiting an experienced and enthusiastic Health & Social Care Teacher to work in a Secondary school in Cardiff from September. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher with experience delivering Health & Social Care or related vocational qualifications at Key Stage 4 and/or Key Stage 5.

The role may be offered on a long term or full time basis for the right candidate.

The Role

As a Health & Social Care Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and meaningful lessons that support pupils in developing both academic understanding and sector specific knowledge. Responsibilities may include:

• Delivering Health & Social Care lessons at KS4 and/or KS5
• Teaching BTEC, CACHE or equivalent vocational qualifications
• Supporting pupils with coursework and portfolio based assessments
• Planning engaging lessons linked to real world Health & Social Care contexts
• Monitoring progress and supporting pupils to meet qualification criteria
• Working collaboratively with departmental staff and senior leaders

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Experience teaching Health & Social Care in a Secondary school or FE setting
• QTS or a relevant teaching qualification (or strong sector experience)
• Experience delivering vocational or coursework based qualifications
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills
• A positive, professional and learner focused approach

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
