Head of Technology

Relai is Europe's leading Bitcoin-only app and we're looking for a Head of Technology to help us ship bug-free, high-quality features across mobile and backend.

You'll leverage your deep technical expertise and leadership skills to support, mentor, and drive alignment within our engineering team. This role is ideal for a tech leader who thrives in dynamic startup environments and is eager to shape the future of Bitcoin at scale.

What You'll Do

• Lead, coach, and support the engineering team


• Collaborate closely with the CTO to drive strategic technical initiatives and ensure alignment between engineering execution and company goals.


• Translate product and business goals into scalable and efficient technical solutions


• Ensure high-quality delivery, engineering performance, and reliability across the stack


• Foster a high-performance, collaborative engineering culture


• Collaborate closely with the Product team to plan, scope, and prioritize work


• Help define and evolve our technical strategy as we scale

What You Bring

• 5+ years of experience in Engineering Management


• 3+ years of experience in a tech leadership role (e.g., Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, Head of Engineering) in fintech startups


• Proven background as a software engineer (you've been hands-on before, even if you're not coding today)


• Strong track record leading engineering teams in fast-paced startup environments


• Solid understanding of backend systems, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and product engineering


• Excellent communication and leadership skills - you lead by influence, not authority


• Bonus: experience with Bitcoin/cryptocurrencies or wallets
