Head of Service (Virtual School)

Location: East Midlands

Rate: £500-£550 per day (Inside IR35) - Negotiable depending on experience

Contract: Until January 2027 initially

Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2 days onsite

We are seeking an experienced Head of Service (Virtual School) to provide strategic leadership for the Virtual School, ensuring education remains central to corporate parenting responsibilities.

• Lead the strategic direction of the Virtual School.
• Champion education for children in care and vulnerable young people.
• Develop effective partnerships with schools, social care and health partners.
• Improve attendance, attainment and educational stability.
• Influence system-wide change and implement national policy locally.
• Provide leadership as part of the Children's and Education Services Senior Leadership Team.

• Significant leadership experience within education or children's services.
• Strong understanding of Virtual School responsibilities and corporate parenting.
• Proven ability to drive strategic improvement.
• Excellent communication, partnership and stakeholder management skills.
