The Role
As Head of Sales, you will take full ownership of our sales strategy, performance and growth across the UK and international markets. You will lead, motivate and develop a high-performing sales team, drive new customer acquisition, expand key accounts, and build strong partnerships to maximise revenue across our freight solutions.
This role requires both strategic vision and hands-on commercial leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a high-impact sales strategy to achieve revenue and margin targets.
- Lead, coach and mentor a geographically dispersed sales team.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across air, sea, road and multimodal freight.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, partners and stakeholders.
- Oversee tender processes, major contract negotiations and pricing strategies.
- Collaborate closely with operations, customs and finance to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Forecast pipeline activity, analyse performance, and produce accurate sales reporting.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to adjust strategy proactively.
- Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions and client meetings.
About You
You will thrive in this role if you are an energetic, commercially driven leader with a strong background in Freight, Logistics or Shipping
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in international freight forwarding sales (air/sea/road).
- Minimum 10+ years experience
- Strong understanding of global logistics, customs, and supply-chain processes.
- Demonstrated success achieving and exceeding revenue targets.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams.
- Commercially analytical with strong forecasting and reporting capability.
- Experience managing major accounts and high-value contracts.
