Transport Planner

Location: Birstall, LeedsSalary: c£35,000.00Summary: Due to growth and restructuring across our client's operation, we are looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join their busy Leeds depot. You will be responsible for planning efficient, compliant, and cost-effective, multi-drop routes for fleets of up to 50 vehicles per depot (predominantly vans but some artics).Working closely with drivers, depot teams, and customers, you'll ensure service levels are consistently met while maintaining operational excellence.Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule vehicle routes to maximise efficiency across multiple delivery depots.
• Allocate drivers and vehicles in line with operational demands and legal regulations (including Drivers' Hours and the Working Time Directive).
• Communicate effectively with drivers, depot staff, and customers to maintain service excellence.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety requirements, and industry legislation.
• Produce regular transport reports and analyse performance data to drive continuous improvement.

Experience

• Multi-drop route planning experience is essential (30+ routes per day).
• Good working knowledge of transport planning software - Paragon experience is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of UK geography, routing, and fleet operations.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
• Previous experience within FMCG, multi-temperature, or similar fast-paced logistics environments is advantageous.
