Job Description

Role: Head of Pay and Reward
Contract Length: 3 months initial - possible extension to 6 months
Location: Remote/UK Wide

Main responsibilities
? Ensure the pay, reward and benefits team is prepared to deliver, or support the delivery of, CLIENT's first annual pay award cycle, gender, ethnicity and disability pay gap reports, the annual report and accounts, transparency reporting, freedom of information requests, and any relevant commissions.
? Be the pay, reward and benefits subject matter expert in the test and implementation phases of CLIENT's payroll provision.
? As part of the implementation of CLIENT's approved pay arrangements, draft and secure approval for CLIENT's pay-related policies, processes and guidance with support from policy colleagues.
? Operationalise job evaluation, including engagement with suppliers and organising training.
? Provide support to the staff transfer by preparing data, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and managing queries to ensure the smoothest transfer of staff.
? Publicise and promote CLIENT's arrangements to attract, motivate and retain talent.

Person SpecificationEssential skills/experience:
? Experience of managing pay, reward and benefits in a large or complex organisation.
? Able to build and maintain strong and inclusive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, and communicate, influence and negotiate to effect change, including in senior level meetings.
? Experience of working with the Trade Union(s) to deliver positive outcomes, preferably in a pay and reward context.
? Experience of developing written communications such as policies, presentations and briefings.
? Confident using data and insights from a variety of sources to help guide and direct decision making.
? Experience of managing and supporting multiple projects or initiatives concurrently, with an understanding of basic project management principles - with a well organised, proactive and enthusiastic approach.
? Be adaptable, flexible and able to work at pace - meeting regularly changing priorities and contributing to a wide variety of high-profile projects, briefings and commissions as required.
? Have good planning and organisational skills with attention to detail.
? Chartered/fully qualified (level 7) member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) or equivalent professional qualification or HR knowledge/experience.
