Head of Finance

Head of Finance Location: Primarily remote, with occasional travel to Edinburgh (2-3 times/month)
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + Excellent Benefits
Contract Type: Full-time (37.5 hours), Permanent

Your new role
As Head of Finance, you will report directly to the Finance Director and lead a dedicated team of five finance professionals. You'll be responsible for the full spectrum of financial operations, including payroll, management accounts, budgeting, statutory reporting, and audit preparation. You'll also play a key role in strategic financial planning and support new business development through financial modelling and analysis.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and mentoring the finance team
  • Overseeing payroll, expenses, and month-end processes
  • Preparing and reviewing management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supporting the Finance Director with budgeting and statutory accounts
  • Reporting to senior leadership alongside the Finance Director
  • Liaising with external auditors and funders
  • Attending Finance, Risk, and Audit Committee meetings


What you'll need to succeed
  • CCAB-qualified accountant (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience managing finance teams and delivering high-quality financial reporting
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Charity sector experience
