A personal lines underwriting business is recruiting for a Head of Finance on a 12-month fixed term contract basis to cover a period of maternity leave.

This is a senior role within the Group Finance function, carrying significant ownership and accountability across the full financial operations of the distribution segment.

Reporting to the Group CFO, you will act as the primary finance business partner for the distribution segment, owning financial reporting, controls, and compliance for the segment while closely collaborating with the wider Group Finance team on shared services, consolidation, and strategic initiatives.

Specific areas of focus and accountability will include:

• Financial leadership & business partnering
• Financial reporting, controls & compliance
• Treasury, payments & banking
• Tax & technical accounting, including consolidation and intercompany
• Systems & process improvements

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior finance professional seeking a substantive interim / FTC role with immediate impact in a dynamic, multi entity business.

Applicants must be qualified accountants with significant post qualification experience, have a proven track record in a senior finance role within a complex, multi entity business - ideally with group or divisional finance experience, possess strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP, consolidation, intercompany, tax compliance, financial reporting), have experience managing year end processes, audit relationships and financial controls, demonstrable experience in FP&A, forecasting and business partnering with senior stakeholders, and hands on experience with finance systems (Sage Intacct or similar platforms advantageous).
