Head of Corporate Governance & IJB Secretary

Are you a strategic leader with a passion for good governance, public service, and making a meaningful impact in health and social care? We are seeking an exceptional individual to join us as Head of Corporate Governance & IJB Secretary. This is a pivotal role within the Business Enabling portfolio, supporting the Chief Officer/Director and Integration Joint Board (IJB) to deliver high standards of governance, transparency, and accountability across the organisation.
Qualifications and Experience- Proven senior leadership experience in a complex public sector environment.
- Deep expertise in corporate governance, internal control, and risk management.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to influence at the highest levels.
- Exceptional communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to navigate politically sensitive and high profile issues.
- A commitment to ethical standards and continuous improvement.
You will be a trusted advisor to the IJB Chair, Chief Officer/Director, and senior leadership team, ensuring the organisation operates within its legal and statutory frameworks, and that governance systems are robust, responsive, and future focused.
This is a high impact role requiring resilience, diplomacy, and a proactive approach to shaping governance and supporting transformation across health and social care services.
Working Hours and LocationHours of work: 36 hrs.
Location: Flexible hybrid working pattern from home and base, with the office base at Fife House, Glenrothes, Fife.
Terms & ConditionsThe Appointments Panel will make an offer on either Local Government or NHS terms and conditions, including salary. This will determine the pension scheme.
Post status: Permanent. Grade: Fife Council FC10 or NHS FC10, or HS AFC Band 8B.
