This role has immense scope and opportunity. We are re thinking our approach to the capital development programme, creating a centralised system that delivers better corporate oversight of key programmes and aligns them with Redbridge's strategic priorities, including the redevelopment of Ilford town centre and a new civic centre.

The Council is simultaneously undertaking a strategic assets review to shape a clear strategic asset management plan, identifying potential development sites and opportunities for disposal.

Responsibilities

1. Lead the new central team to manage capital development programmes.
2. Foster first class client relationships with Housing, Education, Leisure, and other stakeholders.
3. Ensure a consistent approach to managing high value projects and deliver expert, professional insight.
4. Navigate political dynamics, negotiate and influence effectively to secure consensus on priorities.
5. Communicate a clear vision for the function and secure buy in from key stakeholders.

Qualifications

1. Proven track record in managing a capital development programme.
2. Detailed knowledge of relevant financial, legal and planning processes and regulations.
3. Relevant project management qualification.
4. Excellent people skills, forward thinking mindset and strong communication skills.
5. Ability to articulate a clear vision and secure stakeholder buy in.
