This role has immense scope and opportunity. We are re thinking our approach to the capital development programme, creating a centralised system that delivers better corporate oversight of key programmes and aligns them with Redbridge's strategic priorities, including the redevelopment of Ilford town centre and a new civic centre.
The Council is simultaneously undertaking a strategic assets review to shape a clear strategic asset management plan, identifying potential development sites and opportunities for disposal.
Responsibilities- Lead the new central team to manage capital development programmes.
- Foster first class client relationships with Housing, Education, Leisure, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure a consistent approach to managing high value projects and deliver expert, professional insight.
- Navigate political dynamics, negotiate and influence effectively to secure consensus on priorities.
- Communicate a clear vision for the function and secure buy in from key stakeholders.
- Proven track record in managing a capital development programme.
- Detailed knowledge of relevant financial, legal and planning processes and regulations.
- Relevant project management qualification.
- Excellent people skills, forward thinking mindset and strong communication skills.
- Ability to articulate a clear vision and secure stakeholder buy in.
