Head of Business Planning becomes the strategic bridge between Marketing & Commercial - ensuring that the right investment choices are made and that strategy flows through execution. The role builds seamless alignment between Marketing and Commercial across the planning cycle so that strategy results in clear priorities, investment choices and brilliant execution. With a global, brand-agnostic lens, the role actively steers investment decisions, challenges assumptions, and enables the organisation to make smarter, insight-driven choices that maximise long-term growth. Top accountabilities: Leads the End-to-End Planning Process to Ensure Strategy Translates into Brilliant Execution Owns and governs the GT end-to-end planning framework, aligning Marketing and Sales around a single, coherent view of priorities through battlegrounds. Own the GT planning process from MBP, SBC through to JBPs and M&E Ensures strategic intent is clearly translated into a prioritised and actionable activation calendar, with defined success measures that drive high-quality execution. Continuously evolves planning tools, ways of working, and capability to strengthen learning, improve decision quality, and raise the bar on commercial excellence. Supports the Marketing Director and Customer Marketing with Data Driven Investment Prioritisation Own the end to end investment strategy for CAPEX and A&P so investments are allocated based on ROI, commercial opportunity, and by airport (RTC project) Partner with Finance and Commercial teams to evaluate business cases, track investment performance, and reallocate budget toward highest value opportunities. Ensure all investment decisions support long term brand-building and commercial outcomes Use measurement & evaluation (M&E) findings to advise and inspire changes in marketing and business plans, ensuring insights translate into tangible shifts in priorities, investment and execution. Apply findings to clearly identify what to STOP, OPTIMISE or CONTINUE, improving decision quality and performance across brand and commercial activity. Encourage adoption of a learning-led, improvement mindset, promoting constructive challenge and evidence-based adjustment to plans to continually optimise outcomes. Experience & Capabilities Required: Highly proficient with data and numbers, with strong analytical skills and capable of spotting patterns and opportunities across multiple data sources. Exceptional stakeholder management, with a track record of building credibility, fostering trust, and shaping alignment across complex, cross-functional teams. Ability to influence decisions without formal authority, aligning stakeholders through clarity of thinking, evidence-based challenge and trusted partnership. Strong critical thinking underpinned by insight, using commercial, category, shopper, consumer and trade data to build priorities, unlock opportunities and improve performance. Deep understanding of commercial operations, with the ability to diagnose what drives effectiveness and efficiency and to influence the optimisation of key growth drivers and activation plans.
