Job Description
Title: Head of Business Development (Oil & Energy)
Contract type: Permanent

Salary: 150-250,000GBP plus bonus

Imperium Commodity Search is retained by an international oil & energy trading house covering both the physical and paper markets in a number of key and growing energy asset classes. With established physical flows in crude and products, the firm are seeking a head of business development to assist them in growing their geographical coverage to future proof their revenues in a rapidly changing global oil trading climate.

With vast experience in the global oil and products trading space, you will be spearheading growth into new territories whilst working with internal physical and paper teams on capitalising on opportunity to drive PnL. With an established team around you, you will be the go to strategist, originator and business development expert to take the business to new markets and continue the long held tradition of success.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify new trading opportunities across crude oil, distillates/products and LNG in a number of geographies
  • Originate deals, trading flows and refinery relationships in target markets (WAF, East/North Africa, Middle East, Far East, Europe, LatAm etc.)
  • Keep on top of global macroeconomic movements and capitalise on trading opportunity in the oil and crude space
  • Work with traders to maximise flows and PnLs across the crude, oil and LNG trading books
  • Build and maintain relationships with counterparties in the oil trading space (refineries, shipping firms etc.)
  • Attend relevant conferences and ensure constant networking and business development
  • Act as a point of contact/subject matter expert for strategy on origination and business development

Experience:

  • 7+ years' experience in the oil and crude trading markets in a business development or physical trading position
  • Excellent knowledge of the global oil, crude, products, distillates trading space
  • Consistently proven results in the space with a marked ability to drive new geographical markets
  • Good analytical skills
  • Located in London (or able to relocate)
  • Able to travel where required
