Job Description

• Manage and oversee the preparation of accurate financial reports and statements.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and financial standards.
• Lead the development and implementation of robust internal control systems.
• Collaborate with other departments to support strategic decision-making processes.
• Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering professional growth.
• Monitor budgets and forecasts to maintain financial sustainability.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Act as a key point of contact for external auditors and stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Head of Accounting should have:

• A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, ACMA).
• Experience in financial reporting and compliance within the not-for-profit sector.
• A strong understanding of internal controls and risk management.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team effectively.
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements.
