Head Chef

The Woodfalls Inn is looking for an experienced and driven head chef who will bring quality and passion to the kitchen. As a head chef you will have a background in working with quality, fresh, local and seasonal ingredients and will have the skill to accomplish great dishes every time. Experience with weddings and functions would be an advantage.

You will need to demonstrate creativity, attention to detail, an enthusiastic approach and the ability to enjoy your work as part of a team striving for excellence. Competency to run a busy kitchen will be essential as are excellent organisation and communication skills. The ability to create inspiring menus with an clear understanding of required profit margins and stock control is essential to the role.

The Woodfalls Inn is a beautiful place to eat, drink and stay. Customers can sit in our restaurant, bar, or patio enjoying quality food and a varied drinks menu. We have ten guest rooms. We are situated in Woodfalls, Downton, easy access from A338, A31, M27 and Salisbury and surrounding areas.

Main duties will be:
Controlling and directing the food preparation process.
Dealing with Rotas and kitchen staff management.
Cost control and budgeting of ordering and pricing of menu items.
Responsibility for the quality of all food served at the restaurant, ensuring consistency and quality presentation.
Managing and motivation of other kitchen staff
Responsibility for ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines.
Working with General Manager for stock control, ordering, reporting.
Working with General Manager and H&S Manager to ensure health and safety and food standards are established and maintained.
Contributing to the planning and running of events and functions.
Good communication and team player to work with all venue management and staff.

This position does require working Saturdays and Sundays but due to the nature of our business we can offer some early shifts or to have some weekends off.
