Grounds Maintenance Operative

Mitie is recruiting a Grounds Maintenance Operative to help maintain outdoor spaces across a range of sites to a high standard.

The role involves carrying out a variety of grounds maintenance duties, operating horticultural equipment safely, and supporting seasonal services while ensuring health and safety procedures are followed.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out grass cutting, hedge trimming, border maintenance, and leaf clearance.
• Undertake litter picking and weed spraying where required.
• Operate hand tools and powered horticultural machinery safely.
• Deliver winter maintenance services, including gritting and snow clearance.
• Assist with seasonal duties such as Christmas tree installation.
• Report hazards and site issues to management.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and complete any required training.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should have:

• A willingness to work outdoors in a variety of environments.
• Good understanding of smartphone technology.
• A positive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Previous grounds maintenance experience.
• PA1 and PA6 spraying certificates.
• Full UK driving licence (required for roles involving company vehicles).
