As a Graduate Transport Planner, you will be involved in a varied workload and will develop your technical and commercial understanding of transport planning.

You will be:

  • Supporting senior members of the team with planning applications and development proposals.
  • Liaising with colleagues, clients, local authorities and other project stakeholders.
  • Producing clear technical reports, drawings and supporting documentation.
  • Developing your understanding of relevant transport planning policy and guidance.
  • Managing your workload across multiple projects as your experience develops.
What you will bring

To be considered for this Graduate Transport Planner opportunity, you will ideally have:

  • A degree in Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning or another relevant discipline.
  • An interest in transport planning, development planning and the built environment.
  • Good numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to produce clear and accurate written work.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • A willingness to learn new transport planning software and technical methodologies.

Previous transport planning experience, including a placement or internship, would be beneficial but is not essential.

Salary and benefits

The salary for this position is £26,000 - £28,000 per year dependent on experience, alongside a competitive benefits package.

You will also have the opportunity to develop your technical expertise through practical project experience and support from experienced transport planning professionals.

Your development and working environment

Based in Oxford, this role provides an excellent starting point for someone looking to establish yourself within the transport planning profession.
