Job Summary

Background

Omexom is a brand through which VINCI Energies undertakes its Transmission & Distribution activities. Omexom specializes in the design, supply, installation, maintenance, and commissioning of electrical infrastructures for a diverse range of electricity utility companies and renewable energy developers throughout the UK and Ireland.

The role

Based in our Kintore office, the overall purpose of the role is to assist in the design, procurement, installation, construction, and commissioning of distribution overhead line networks. After gaining experience and completing a structured training program, the candidate will advance to a Project Management role.

The post holder will collaborate closely with project managers, designers, commercial staff, and operational staff to develop an understanding of the substation industry and related construction projects.

Over a two-year period, a comprehensive training program will be provided both externally and internally via the VINCI Energies UK Academy to equip the successful candidate with skills in project management, technical expertise, people management, financial management, procurement, health and safety, environmental and quality standards, business development, and commercial and contract awareness.

The key duties include but are not limited to:

• Assist with the safe and efficient delivery of work to the highest construction standards.
• Support the delivery of projects/programmes to ensure safety, quality, budget, and schedule adherence.
• Contribute to the commercial success and profitability of projects.
• Help manage operational staff to ensure optimal project delivery.
• Participate in tendering processes and bid management.
• Maintain effective communication with customers.
• Assist in managing budgets and controlling costs, including timely financial reporting.
• Help prepare project progress reports for periodic reviews with clients.
• Support HR issues at the site level, including disciplinary matters, as directed by the Project Manager.

Required Education, Skills, and Qualifications

Essential

• A degree in a relevant technical or engineering discipline.
• Good understanding and practical experience with MS Excel and/or MS Project.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Ability to plan work logically and efficiently.
• Capability to manage and motivate operational employees and subcontractors.
• Customer-focused decision-making skills.
• Ability to meet targets in a commercial environment, work under pressure, and adhere to tight deadlines.
• Full driving license and access to suitable transportation.
• Desire to develop and grow within the Project Management role, taking on additional responsibilities.
• Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
