The OpportunityWe're looking for a Graduate Data Scientist to join our Data Insights team. You will have the chance to work across a unique & wide-ranging portfolio of data projects. The role is focused on delivering data-driven solutions to both internal and external clients.
As a Graduate Data Scientist, you will:
- Support the development and delivery of data science, analytics and AI solutions that help clients solve complex challenges across the transport, energy, water and built environment sectors.
- Apply statistical, analytical and programming techniques to collect, prepare, analyse and visualise data, identifying insights that support better decision-making.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to understand stakeholder needs, translate business challenges into data-driven solutions, and contribute to the development of practical tools, dashboards and applications.
- Explore and apply emerging AI, machine learning and data technologies, helping Arup and its clients adopt innovative approaches that improve efficiency, enhance insights and deliver better outcomes.
- Contribute to a collaborative learning environment by sharing knowledge, adopting best practices, and continuously developing technical and professional skills through training, mentoring and project experience.
For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes:
An undergraduate or bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in the following disciplines:
Technical Skills: Experience and knowledge in some of the following areas:
- Machine Learning; Statistics; Data Science and Analytics; Data Visualization
- Python Programming; Database Systems and SQL; Data Engineering
- Cloud Computing; Artificial Intelligence; Software Engineering; Data Modelling
- Data Cleaning and Transformation; Power BI; Git; Tableau; Microsoft Azure
- Databricks; AWS; Geospatial Data Analysis
To be considered for a graduate opportunity, your application must include a copy of your academic transcript and meet the following criteria:
- Full working rights in the country of application
- No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role
- Recently graduated, or on track to graduate, from your most recent degree, related to your role of choice, before employment starts.
