Project Manager - Health Data & Research

Contract: 12 months FTC

Location: Scotland - remote

Start Date: ASAP

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join an established Project Management team and report directly to the Portfolio Lead.

This is a newly created position following significant new funding secured through the Health Data Research programme, with multiple projects now being delivered across the portfolio.

The programme is focused on improving the use and accessibility of health data, supporting research and innovation and enabling better access to valuable patient and healthcare information

The Role

As Project Manager, you will oversee and coordinate multiple concurrent projects across the portfolio, acting as a central point of contact and ensuring delivery remains aligned with wider programme objectives.

A key aspect of the role will be working with external partner organisations who may take responsibility for day-to-day project delivery based on their specialist expertise. You will retain oversight of delivery, governance, risks, dependencies and outcomes.

Projects may include initiatives focused on data accessibility, wider health data improvement, working across a complex network of academic, research, public-sector and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate multiple projects across the Health Data Research portfolio.
• Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, risks, issues and dependencies.
• Coordinate delivery across internal teams and external partner organisations.
• Maintain strong project governance and ensure projects remain aligned to programme objectives.
• Act as a central point of contact for project stakeholders and delivery partners.
• Monitor progress, identify issues and take appropriate action to maintain momentum.
• Manage competing priorities across multiple concurrent projects.
• Build effective relationships with academic, research, public-sector and senior stakeholders.
• Provide clear project updates and reporting to the Portfolio Lead and wider stakeholders.
• Ensure appropriate consideration of data governance, information governance and data management throughout delivery.

About You

We are looking for a strong Project Manager who can demonstrate:

• Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects.
• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Experience working across organisational boundaries and with external delivery partners.
• Experience within public sector and/or higher education environments.
• Knowledge of data governance, information governance and data management.
• Confidence engaging with academic, research and senior stakeholder groups.
• Excellent organisation, prioritisation and planning skills.
• The ability to manage competing demands within a complex portfolio.
• A proactive approach to driving projects forward and maintaining delivery momentum.
• Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.

This is particularly suited to a Project Manager who is comfortable operating across multiple projects and stakeholders, rather than someone focused on delivering a single standalone project.
