Financial Controller (Hybrid)

Reed Finance are currently seeking an experienced Financial Controller on behalf of our client, offering a competitive salary of circa £65,000. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional to take ownership of a dynamic finance function and play a key role in driving financial performance and strategic decision-making. This is a hybrid based role in Scunthorpe.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and lead the finance team, ensuring high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
• Take full ownership of the management accounts process, delivering timely and insightful reporting.
• Prepare and maintain robust cashflow forecasts to support business planning.
• Handle large and complex data sets, applying advanced Excel skills (including Power Query, PivotTables, and VBA) to enhance reporting and analysis.
• Act as a strategic business partner to operational and commercial teams, providing financial insight and support.
• Conduct detailed variance analysis to explain financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, managing audit processes and ensuring compliance.

Candidate Requirements:

• Fully qualified accountant, part-qualified or QBE
• Proven experience in a finance leadership role
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with financial systems and ERP platforms (desirable)
