Financial Controller (25 - 28 hours)

Membership Organisation - Professional/Regulatory Sector

Remote working: Occasional London and national meetings (approx. six per year)
Salary: £50k FTE
Permanent, Part Time (21-25 hours)

Job Purpose:
To lead the organisation's financial management, ensuring compliant, accurate and timely reporting, and providing clear financial advice to Trustees and senior stakeholders.

Key Duties:

• Produce annual, quarterly and ad hoc management accounts (Charities SORP compliant)
• Lead budgeting, reforecasting and cashflow planning
• Monitor income/expenditure and support cost control
• Manage audit, statutory returns and P11Ds
• Oversee VAT processes, including partial exemption
• Present financial information clearly to Trustees and non financial colleagues

Person Requirements:

• Experienced charity or membership sector Financial Controller
• Strong understanding of charity VAT and SORP
• Confident engaging with Boards and Committees
• Skilled in translating strategy into operational financial plans
• Analytical, proactive and able to make informed recommendations
