Finance Manager

Location: Mullingar
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Salary: Competitive (Depending on Experience)
Reports to: Director

Overview:
Our client is seeking a qualified, experienced Finance Manager to join their small, dynamic team based in Mullingar on a 12-month contract. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who will take full ownership of the finance function, ensuring the smooth operation of all financial processes, while contributing to the business's growth and financial health.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly management accounts, balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Manage the monthly and annual budgeting processes.
  • Supervise the accounts payable/receivable functions, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and deadlines are met.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.
  • Prepare financial statements for audit purposes and liaise with external auditors as required.
  • Work closely with senior management to provide strategic financial analysis and forecasting.
  • Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with taxation obligations.
  • Lead the small finance team, providing support and guidance to junior staff members.
  • Assist in any ad hoc financial projects and reports as required.
Requirements:
  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified accountant (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' post-qualification experience in a similar finance role.
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and management accounting.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar) and MS Excel.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Previous experience working in a small team or business environment would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Irish tax and financial regulations would be beneficial.
