Job Description
Finance Operations Assistant

Edinburgh or Glasgow (flexible working model)
6-month contract
£147 per day (via umbrella)

A well-established public sector organisation is looking for a Finance Operations Assistant to support its Governance & Operational Finance function.

This role sits within a busy finance team responsible for day-to-day transactional processing and financial controls, working closely with colleagues to ensure smooth and accurate financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing supplier and customer invoices (AP & AR)
  • Matching invoices to purchase orders
  • Handling invoice and payment queries
  • Processing expenses and customer receipts
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Setting up new suppliers and customers
  • Supporting budget holders with finance queries
  • Assisting with internal and external audit activity

About You:

  • Previous experience in a finance operations or transactional finance role
  • Comfortable working across AP, AR, expenses, or treasury functions
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume processing
  • Confident communicating with internal stakeholders
  • Public sector experience is beneficial but not essential
