Finance Operations Assistant
About You:

Edinburgh or Glasgow (flexible working model)
6-month contract
£147 per day (via umbrella)
A well-established public sector organisation is looking for a Finance Operations Assistant to support its Governance & Operational Finance function.
This role sits within a busy finance team responsible for day-to-day transactional processing and financial controls, working closely with colleagues to ensure smooth and accurate financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Processing supplier and customer invoices (AP & AR)
- Matching invoices to purchase orders
- Handling invoice and payment queries
- Processing expenses and customer receipts
- Reconciling supplier statements
- Setting up new suppliers and customers
- Supporting budget holders with finance queries
- Assisting with internal and external audit activity
About You:
- Previous experience in a finance operations or transactional finance role
- Comfortable working across AP, AR, expenses, or treasury functions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume processing
- Confident communicating with internal stakeholders
- Public sector experience is beneficial but not essential
