The Team

The Chinese Category team collaborates with the UKI Commercial teams to enhance Deliveroo's performance across four nations. We focus on local markets from Brighton to Belfast. As part of this team, you will recruit top restaurants in your region, working within Birmingham and reporting to the London Chinese Category Client Partner.

The Role

This role offers an opportunity to grow within a competitive market by building relationships with new Chinese restaurant partners, enhancing our service for customers, and driving growth. It's ideal for someone passionate about relationship-building.

Note: A valid driving license and access to a car are preferred, as travel around Birmingham and nearby areas is required. This role involves significant travel and is not confined to an office setting.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Map, prospect, pitch, and close new restaurants in your region, becoming a local expert on emerging and popular venues.
  2. Communicate in Mandarin via visits, emails, calls, and social media to demonstrate Deliveroo's technology.
  3. Manage the restaurant onboarding process efficiently and seamlessly.
  4. Ensure restaurant success within the first eight weeks of onboarding.
  5. Sample food from high-quality establishments.
  6. Attend restaurant and food industry meet-ups.
KPIs
  • Number of restaurants signed each month
  • Performance of new restaurants in the first three months
Required Skills
  • Fluency in Mandarin; Cantonese is a plus.
  • Comfortable targeting and approaching new businesses.
  • Strong negotiation skills to structure mutually beneficial deals.
  • Understanding of the food delivery industry economics.
  • Excellent communication skills across face-to-face, phone, and email interactions.
  • Ability to demonstrate product and industry knowledge.
  • Ownership mindset and ability to meet demanding targets.
  • Interest in food and restaurants.
  • Motivated, tenacious, and results-oriented.
