Join Bio-Rad as a Field Application Specialist and take it on for our Food Science Team. You'll collaborate with a resilient, tenacious sales team to achieve ambitious sales targets. The Field Application Specialist will be responsible for application support related to products in Food Science and ensuring customers receive the best support for their needs. This includes training, service, and application repair of company products at customer premises. Part of their job is also to perform presentations during seminars and congresses (when required) and to acquire information on competitors, market trends, and customers. The main geographical scope of the new Field Application Specialist will be the UK and the Nordic countries (Denmark, Sweden, Finland, the Northern part of the Netherlands/Germany).
Please note that this position requires traveling up to 50-70%, mainly in the UK & Nordic countries.
How You'll make an impact:- Application support related to our products in the Food Science portfolio.
- Support sales team by providing pre-sales and post-sales technical activities to achieve FSD revenue targets.
- Assist in bids, customer presentations, and meetings.
- Training and education of Customers and Channel Partners.
- Help resolve customer complaints, either remotely or on-site, in collaboration with the Bio-Rad Technical Support Department.
- Work closely with Sales Teams, representing the company at exhibitions and conferences, and helping gather commercial and market knowledge.
- Travel up to 50-70% in EMEA as required.
- Serve as an application specialist for the IQ-Check Prep automation system within EMEA.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biological Science, Microbiology, Food Science, or a comparable field.
- 5-10 years of professional experience in a Field Application or Product Support role, ideally in the Food Science industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong technical skills with a passion or ability to learn to troubleshoot software, mechanical, or product handling issues.
- Knowledge of molecular laboratory techniques, including real-time PCR.
- Passion for working in the field with customers.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Good IT skills.
- Proficiency in professional English (reading, writing, speaking) for meetings, reports, presentations, and technical documents.
