Facility Manager

Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.
Package: £48950 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience).
Working Pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight, with every other Friday as a non-working day.
This role is operational and customer facing, so employees are required to work fully onsite. We support flexible working arrangements where possible, including part-time and varied working hours, while maintaining an onsite presence.
We are currently recruiting for a Facility Manager to join our Facilities Management Team. Working closely with operational leaders, technical specialists, project teams and service providers, you will be a trusted advisor on facility performance, compliance, work control and operational risk. The successful candidate will take ownership of a portfolio of operational facilities within one of the UK's most highly regulated and safety-critical environments.
You will play a key role in ensuring facilities remain safe, secure, compliant and available to support operational delivery, whilst leading the provision of integrated facilities management services.
Responsibilities- Lead the day-to-day management of an operational facility portfolio.
- Ensure facilities remain safe, compliant and available to meet business and programme requirements.
- Co-ordinate the delivery of hard and soft FM services in accordance with defined service standards.
- Act as the focal point for facility users, building strong relationships and ensuring a high standard of customer service.
- Provide authoritative advice on compliance, duty holder responsibilities and operational risk.
- Deliver robust work control arrangements and support safe execution of maintenance and project activities.
- Support regulatory interactions and assurance activities relating to facility operations.
- Contribute to asset governance arrangements, including change management and configuration control.
- Develop the capability and performance of embedded Facilities Management resources.
- Drive continuous improvement, operational excellence and value for money across the facility portfolio.
We do need you to demonstrate experience in the following:
- Experience in facilities, estate, operational or process management.
- Experience working within a highly regulated environment.
- Strong stakeholder management and customer engagement skills.
- Experience leading and motivating cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and make effective operational decisions.
- Strong communication, influencing and problem-solving capabilities.
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.

We would also appreciate you having an understanding of some of the following:
- Professional membership of IWFM or an equivalent professional body.
- NEBOSH qualification or equivalent health and safety experience.
- Experience of contract and supplier management.
- Experience supporting facility modifications, projects or asset changes.
- Knowledge of asset management, work control and compliance management systems.
- 9-day working fortnight - meaning you get every other Friday off work, in addition to 270 hours of annual leave.

You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. This will be funded by AWE.
The nature of our work does mean you need to be a British Citizen who has been resident in the UK for the past 5 years in order to apply for SC clearance and 10 years for DV.
Our interviews typically take place over Teams and for most roles are a single-stage process.
