THE OPPORTUNITY - SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISOR (CONTRACT POSITION) The role of the Senior Environmental advisor is to help the company to manage its environmental business risks effectively. The role advices and supports the organization with the application of environmental permits, helps the company to comply with the legal and company internal environmental requirements, supports the company's performance assurance efforts and facilitates continual improvement and environmental awareness. The function represents the company with the regulator and at industry working group level. CONTRACT DURATION - One Year Initial Contract LOCATION - Hoofddorp Office, Hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 at home) TIME TYPE - Full Time HOURLY RATE - 49-56 Euro per hour MUST HAVE RIGHT TO WORK IN NETHERLANDS ALREADY IN PLACE AND NOW FOR THE TECHNICAL BIT Once in role, you will be accountable for: Provide strategic advice to enable the company to manage its environmental risks effectively. Develop and maintain an environmental management plan that provides a complete audit trail between internal and external performance expectations and what the company does to manage its environmental business risks. Keep abreast of pertinent and proposed legal requirements and helps the company to translate these into effective environmental risk management strategies. Keep abreast of other external drivers (stakeholders and corporate) and help translate these also into effective management strategies. Support the line with the implementation of identified management strategies; by providing training, by suggesting performance indicators and by supporting the development of procedures. Support the development of internal and external environmental performance tracking and reporting tools. Help the company satisfy its environmental reporting requirements by completing and filing reports. Provide environmental support for the offshore operations in the Greater Markham Area. Provide limited environmental support for supporting projects. Support company internal and external environmental audits. Support the development and maintenance of the company environmental management system. Act as the primary focus point for the discussion of environmental issues between the company and the regulator. Keep abreast of developments in environmental management. Provide input into the departmental budget and is accountable for the management of external parties that provide environmental services to the HSE department. Represent the company in the industry NOGEPA Environmental Committee and other appropriate working groups. Help to plan, manage and participate in emergency response including on call duty when required ABOUT YOU You'll need to have 8-10 years of environmental management experience in E&P industry, along with a strong working knowledge of current UK and NL environmental legislation pertaining to the offshore industry. You will be educated to Bachelor or Master level in related engineering discipline. To be successful in this role you will have: Experience with Environmental Management Systems, risk communication, auditing and management of change. Good interpersonal, communication and personal leadership skills. Maintains a professional relationship with internal and external stakeholders. Identifies and promotes environmental management improvement opportunities. Demonstrates personal leadership within the execution of the role. Promotes a proactive approach to the management of business environmental risks. Facilitates that lessons are learned from high potential incidents. Facilitates a strategic and proactive response to upcoming regulations.
