English Teacher Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire Salary: £35,602-£54,328 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications; pro rata for part-time Contract: Temporary, full-time or part-time (0.8 FTE) Start date: January 2027 Teach Now is recruiting an enthusiastic English Teacher to join a thriving English department at an ambitious secondary school in St Albans. Your responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons that challenge pupils and support different learning needs.
- Develop pupils reading, writing, analytical and communication skills.
- Assess progress and provide constructive feedback to help pupils achieve their potential.
- Create an inclusive classroom with high expectations for learning and behaviour.
- Collaborate with departmental colleagues on resources and teaching approaches.
- Contribute to pastoral care and wider school life through clubs, trips or enrichment activities.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and strong English subject knowledge.
- The ability to deliver stimulating, well-structured secondary English lessons.
- A commitment to pupil progress, wellbeing and inclusive teaching.
- Strong communication, classroom management and teamwork skills.
- Enthusiasm for contributing to the wider school community.
