Hays Education is recruiting English Teachers (QTS) to work on a supply basis across a range of secondary schools in Cheltenham & the surrounding areas of Gloucestershire.

We are looking for passionate English specialists who can deliver high quality lessons in English Language and Literature to KS3 and KS4 students.

We have regular opportunities for:

• Day to day cover
• Short term blocks
• Long term English roles (now, Easter, and September)

What you'll be doing

• Deliver pre planned English lessons across KS3-KS4
• Support progress in reading, writing, speaking and analytical skills
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and engagement
• Follow departmental schemes of work and school policies
• Adapt confidently to a range of schools and class groups
• Long term placements may include planning, marking, assessments and involvement in the wider English department.

What you'll need to succeed

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
• Experience teaching in a UK secondary school (ECT placements welcome)
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management
• The right to work in the UK
• An Enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain one
• A flexible, positive approach to supply teaching
• ECTs are encouraged to apply
