Employee Relations Manager

Hybrid working with regular travel to our London Bridge Office.
What the job involvesThis fixed term role offers an experienced ER specialist the chance to focus on improving processes and strengthening foundations that help people do their best work, rather than high volume casework.
You will lead improvements following a recent ER audit, making our policies, processes, guidance and reporting clearer, more consistent and easier to use. You will also support some complex ER casework, coach managers through sensitive situations, and help develop practical training content on investigations, grievances, disciplinary hearings and appeals.
What we want from you- Extensive experience managing a wide range of employee relations casework in a complex and/or fast paced environment, including grievances, dismissal appeals and investigations involving multiple parties and sensitive issues, with sound judgement on process, risk and fairness.
- Experience of handling complex investigations involving potential discrimination, with the cultural competence to manage issues sensitively and provide appropriate advice to managers.
- Experience of writing and updating policies and guidance in line with employment law, regulation and best practice.
- Ability to develop practical training content for managers and work collaboratively with Learning and Development colleagues to build manager capability.
- Ability to improve approaches to ER reporting and record keeping across casework, including performance improvement and flexible working requests.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and coaching skills, with the ability to build trust, influence at all levels and explain complex information clearly.

This role is in salary Band 4, with a starting salary of £42,750 to £50,250 per year. Following 12 months of successful service, colleagues will move to the midpoint of the pay band, £50,250. We also pay a working from home allowance at the HMRC tax free rate of £312 per year. We are committed to paying at least the London Living Wage for all roles and apply the updated rate each April.

How and where we workColleagues attend the office at least four days per month (pro rata for part time colleagues) to collaborate, build relationships, and support projects and decision making. The remaining days can be worked from home. Travel to the office is covered by us. Additional in person attendance will be required during induction and training.
