We're looking for a Electrical Design Engineer to join our team based in Liverpool or London. Kier Design are a highly regarded Tier 1 Contractor, with a 750 plus strong design consultancy team, recognised as a Top 30 employer on Glassdoor.
Location: Liverpool or London
Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
Salary: starting from £40,000 per year

Are you
- Degree qualified in Electrical Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering and member of CIBSE or IET
- Chartered Engineer or working towards becoming chartered
- Demonstrating proven capability in electrical building services engineering
- Possessing excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly
- Experienced in the application of quality procedures and document control in engineering design
What will you be responsible for?
As a Electrical Design Engineer, you'll be working within the Major Projects team, supporting them in delivering sustainable, compliant, and cost-effective electrical designs for large, complex construction projects.
Working collaboratively with clients, architects, and colleagues, you'll ensure sustainable, compliant, and cost-effective design delivery from concept through to construction. You'll play a key role in bridging client needs with engineering reality, leading the electrical design team and driving innovation for high-value projects.
This role offers the chance to develop standards, share best practice, and make a real impact on projects that shape our built environment.
Your day to day will include:
- Providing high quality electrical designs and specifications that meet client requirements and brief
- Providing high level technical advice in electrical building services engineering
- Supporting electrical engineering in project design meetings, establishing solutions and working closely with colleagues and other design team members
- Ensuring all designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, industry standards and Kier Design standards and procedures
- Promoting and implementing sustainable design solutions and developing innovative proposals to enhance the service
