Spore.Bio is a deeptech start-up born in 2023, building a new paradigm in the quality control systems in Food&Beverage, Cosmetics, and Pharmaceutics factories.

After spending a lot of time in factories environments, we saw the pain it was to make sure products were safe. Traditional quality control has heavy constraints and long waiting times. To change that, we decided to build Spore.Bio, a new generation of microbiological testing.

Our team is dedicated to bringing technology and developing a cutting-edge solution, based on advanced optical and deep-learning technologies, to detect bacterial contamination within seconds.

Are you ready to revolutionize microbiology monitoring in factories? Spore Bio is seeking a Data Scientistto develop our cutting-edge data science solution. Join our dynamic team of R&D experts and product managers, and help us build the future of industrial microbiology.

• Build a thorough understanding of the end-to-end data generation pipeline, from sample preparation to downstream processing.
• Define and scope data acquisition needs to improve model training and generalization.
• Train, validate, and benchmark machine learning models; perform detailed error analysis to guide improvements.
• Identify bottlenecks and propose enhancements to data workflows to accelerate model development.

Required qualifications/ experience :

• Education & Background: Master's degree (or equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience (professional or academic) in Computer Vision and/or Deep Learning
• Suitable for entry-level profiles with up to 2 years of experience

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency with PyTorch or similar deep learning frameworks
• Solid understanding of modern neural network architectures for vision tasks (e.g. Vision Transformers, segmentation networks, CycleGANs)
• Familiarity with data processing and backend tools (e.g. pandas, FastAPI)
• Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus
• Strong coding fundamentals and clean code practices

• Ability to navigate and contribute in multi-disciplinary environments, including client-facing or cross-functional discussions
