We partner with Tesco Bank to support their contingent recruitment processes. Acting as an extension of their recruitment teams, we connect them with skilled interim and temporary professionals, fostering workplaces where everyone can contribute and succeed.

On behalf of Tesco Bank, AMS are now looking for a Data Analyst based in Edinburgh for an initial contract length of 6 months.

We are seeking a Data Analyst to support the Integration and Hydration workstream as we transition to a modern enterprise data platform. This role focuses on identifying, analysing, and integrating data feeds, completing data discovery templates, and helping hydrate the new platform with accurate, high-quality data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and document data feeds from various source systems to support the platform integration process.

  • Assist in migrating data to the modern enterprise data platform, ensuring alignment with data architecture and governance standards.

  • Conduct data discovery activities - profiling datasets, understanding data quality, and capturing metadata.

  • Complete data discovery templates, filling in details such as source, structure, lineage, and business context.

  • Analyze and collate data from multiple systems to support integration and reporting requirements.

  • Support initial hydration of the data platform, validating data loads and ensuring completeness and consistency.

  • Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to ensure smooth and accurate data onboarding.

  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and insights to support decision-making during the transition phase.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst or similar role in data integration or migration projects.
  • Strong data analysis and profiling skills, with experience in tools such as SQL, Excel, or Power BI.

  • Familiarity with enterprise data platforms (eg, Azure, AWS, Snowflake, or GCP).

  • Understanding of data modelling, metadata, and data quality principles.

  • Ability to interpret technical and business data requirements and translate them into actionable tasks.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities
