Customer Delivery Driver, Supermarket Assistant

About the Role

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you'll be bringing the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and partner led service right to our customers' doors. When you're not on the road, you'll support the shop team with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to an efficient and welcoming environment.

In addition to your contractual pay, any time worked between 22:00 and 06:00 will attract a night premium of £3.75 per hour, also applicable to Partners enrolled in Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements. Applicants must be 18years or older.

Key Responsibilities

• Check your delivery routes for the day.
• Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are together and can be efficiently delivered directly to customers.
• Complete all appropriate vehicle safety checks, maintaining full road compliance, health and safety standards.
• Act as an ambassador for the Waitrose brand, prioritising great customer service on the road.
• Help customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
• Support the wider shop team with general shop keeping tasks when required.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Full valid B Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Great customer service skills.
• Time management skills.
• Ability to cope with physical requirements (e.g., lifting crates, moving cages).
• Comfortable working independently, self motivated and adaptable.
• IT literate.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a driving role.
• Knowledge of chilled vehicles welcomed.

Job Details

Pay: £14.31 per hour. Contract Type: Temporary. Part time contract (15 hours). Hours of Work: Sundays 06 45 and Fridays 13 30. Job Level: Partnership Level 10. Location: Norwich (Waitrose & Partners), Eaton Centre, Norwich, Norfolk, NR4 6NU. Closing Date: July18,2026.
