Your new role
Reporting to the Credit Manager, you will play a key role in reducing customer arrears, improving cash flow performance, and ensuring all relevant regulatory requirements, data protection standards, and internal procedures are followed.As Credit Controller, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a portfolio of customer accounts and proactively reducing outstanding debt.
- Conducting inbound and outbound telephone calls to customers regarding overdue balances.
- Negotiating affordable repayment arrangements and resolving customer payment issues.
- Investigating customer accounts and tracing debtors where required.
- Liaising with third-party agencies and internal stakeholders to progress debt recovery activities.
- Maintaining accurate account records and updating internal systems.
- Working towards individual and team performance targets and KPIs.
- Escalating cases and providing reports in line with regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Delivering a high standard of customer service while balancing commercial objectives.
This role would suit an experienced collections, credit control, or customer account specialist who thrives in a fast-paced and target-driven environment.
What you'll need to succeed
- A minimum of 2 years' experience within Credit Control, Collections, Customer Accounts, or a similar customer-focused environment.
- Experience managing a high volume of customer interactions and negotiating successful payment outcomes.
- Previous experience working within a target-driven and fast-paced environment.
- Excellent telephone and communication skills with experience handling both inbound and outbound calls.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
- A well-organised approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience working towards KPIs and performance objectives.
- Proficiency across Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- The ability to remain resilient, professional, and solutions-focused when dealing with challenging situations.
