Information:

We are seeking an experienced Cost Controller to join a major construction project in Amsterdam on a Freelance contract basis for the remaining duration of the project (approx. 6-24 months). This role has arisen due to the unexpected departure of the previous cost controller, and the successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining financial oversight, avoiding delays, and ensuring cost discipline throughout the remainder of the build.

Responsibilities:

• Ownership of cost control functions for the project and report back to the Project Director
• Monitor, track, and report on project budgets, expenditures, and forecasts
• Identify variances and investigate deviations from budget
• Coordinate with project management, planning, procurement, and finance teams
• Update and maintain the cost control system, ensuring accurate cost data
• Emphasis on preparation of monthly cost reports and forecasts for senior management
• Stakeholder engagement about reports and management of the operational costs
• Ensure all financial reporting aligns with corporate and project standards

Essentials:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in project cost control, in construction or engineering
• CAPEX and EPC Experience working on large construction projects
• Strong analytical and reporting skills; highly proficient in Excel and cost control software (e.g., SAP, Primavera, or similar)
• Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken)
• Available to be based on-site in Amsterdam for the duration of the contract
• VCA- vol required
