Contentious Probate Solicitor

An established and growing Shropshire Legal 500 firm is looking to recruit a Newly Qualified Solicitor to join its Contentious Probate team in Shrewsbury. This role offers an excellent platform for an NQ solicitor to develop specialist expertise in contentious probate within a supportive and progressive working environment.

You will work closely with a senior solicitor who is highly experienced in this area, receiving structured supervision while gaining early responsibility for your own matters.

The Role

You will assist with and progressively manage a dedicated caseload of contentious probate and inheritance disputes, including:

• Claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975

• Disputes relating to estates and probate

• Applications concerning the removal of executors and trustees

This position provides exposure to high-quality work and the opportunity to build strong technical knowledge early in your career.

The Candidate

You will be:

• A newly qualified solicitor (or due to qualify shortly)

• Confident in communicating with clients and colleagues

• Client-focused, with a professional and empathetic approach

• Motivated, organised and keen to take ownership of your work

• Interested in contributing to business development and profile-raising activities
