Overview

Consultant Social Worker within the Children in Care Permanence Team.

This role will be based within Warwickshire's Children in Care Permanence Team who are predominantly based in Bedworth but offer a Countywide service to all Children in Care who have a plan of permanency across Warwickshire and those who may be placed further away from home. We offer a service to Children in Care of all ages (up to 18yrs) who have a plan of permanence in various settings including foster care, residential provision, supported accommodation, supported lodgings, and those placed with connected family members.

We also work very closely with families, and as children get older and family circumstances change, we support children and young people to return to their families where safe to do so.

Our focus is on ensuring all children and young people are well supported to maximise their life chances; where they can thrive in our care, are safe from any harm or abuse, have access to the best education and training, and feel prepared for adulthood. About the Role

The role available is for a Consultant Social Worker to supervise and oversee our Family Support Workers. Our Family Support Workers are essential to ensuring high-quality, consistent support for children and families. You will need to be a minimum of 4 years post qualification and have experience of supervising students or mentoring colleagues.

We are seeking a passionate Consultant Social Worker who will:

• Supervise the Family Support workers that sit within the Children in Care and Permanence Team.
• Management of incoming work including prioritisation and allocation through caseload management of team members review and closure of cases.
• To maintain clear and accurate recording systems to ensure safe and sound practice
• To carry out regular monitoring and evaluation work
• Take responsibility and lead the performance of your team, evidencing positive impact and outcomes are achieved for children.
• Monitoring and auditing the quality of service provided by the team and ensuring any corrective measures are taken to meet the objectives set for the team.
• Completed additional pieces of stand-alone worker to support the wider service.
• To deputise for the Team Manager, as required.

Key Requirements

This role is Countywide so there will be some travelling within Warwickshire and also beyond Warwickshire to children and young people placed further afield.

This role will be primarily undertaken within office hours however agile working will be required, with some evening work depending on the needs of families.

Applicants for the role will need a professional Social Work qualification and Social Work England Registration.
