Main duties of the job

As our Consultant Podiatric Surgeon, you will:

• Lead on the delivery of Foot and Ankle orthopaedic procedures, including elective reconstructions, arthroscopies, and forefoot and hindfoot surgery.
• Provide high quality, patient focused care throughout the full surgical pathway from assessment and diagnosis to surgery and postoperative management.
• Work collaboratively with anaesthetists, theatre staff, nurses, physiotherapists, and RMOs to ensure safe and efficient patient journeys.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and clinical governance activities to maintain the highest standards of safety and care.
• Support audit, research, and continuous improvement initiatives across the orthopaedic department.
• Contribute to training and mentoring of junior doctors and theatre staff, helping to foster a positive learning environment.

• Full GMC registration.
• Extensive experience in podiatry surgery, with a proven track record of delivering excellent surgical outcomes.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• A patient centred approach and genuine enthusiasm for delivering outstanding care.
• A commitment to audit, governance, and the continuous development of clinical practice.
