Consultant in Haematology - Northampton

Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant in Haematology to join our dynamic team at Northampton General Hospital. As a key member of our medical staff, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality haematology services to our patients. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive and collaborative environment, where your expertise will contribute to improving patient outcomes and advancing haematology care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with haematological disorders.

  • Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care plans.

  • Engage in teaching and training of junior doctors, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols.

  • Participate in clinical governance activities, including audit and quality improvement projects.

  • Undertake administrative duties associated with patient care, including documentation and reporting.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of haematology advancements through continuing professional development.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a license to practice.

  • Completion of higher specialist training in Haematology.

  • Possession of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent in Haematology.

  • Experience in managing a wide range of haematological conditions.

Desirable Skills:

  • Strong clinical skills with a patient-centred approach.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and research.
